Vacation.

Soon I’ll be headed to southern California for a lovely vacation with the family!

I absolutely cannot wait. Here are some things I want to accomplish while on vacation.

1. Sleeping in.

(via)

(what is it about cats sleeping that is so dang cute? kills me…)

Since the BF and I have been the closest this summer (in miles) as we have ever been, we’ve been spending every weekend going back and forth to visit each other. I LOVE this, don’t get me wrong- but I definitely don’t catch up on sleep on the weekend.  While on vacation, I fully plan to sleep in until at least 9 a.m. each morning- provided Kingston lets me.

2. Reading! Reading! And more reading!

(via)

Remember that list of books I wanted to read this summer? Definitely haven’t read any of them! AND, I added two to the list! So I definitely plan on reading at least two over the span of the week.

3. Swimming!

(via)

I LOVE swimming. My mom has always called Sister and I water babies, because we never want to get out. I’m so excited to just spend time on the beach, playing with Kingsty, and of course doing some boogie-boarding.

4. Napping.

See #1.

5. Spending time with the family.

mama and papa beebs.

Sister, Trevor, and Kingston. (Photo stolen from Sister’s blog… but taken by me, so I guess it’s not really stealing.)

Because really, this is what it’s all about right?

Things I’m not looking forward to:

Not seeing the boyfriend for 7 extra days. But I guess sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do! 🙂

Are you going on vacation? If so, where are you going? And what are you excited to be doing?

Weekend Update: Oregon Brew Fest 2010

Over the weekend I headed down to Portland to visit le BF and hit up yet another brew fest.

It was crazy! There were roughly a gazillion people there… all in the 20-30 age range. Which was a HUGE difference from the previous brew fest. This coupled with it being ridiculously hot outside made it kind of irritating.

We ended up taking the max into downtown Portland so we wouldn’t have to drive, or find parking.

Once we got there I took some photos… not many because it was so over whelming… but here are the few I took:

The sign that pointed you in the direction of your favorite brewery.

An example of the lines up to the brewers.

The mug.

The tokens.

And lastly, here’s the infamous shirt that gets le BF tons of attention when he wears it, especially around a bunch of people who’ve been drinking…

Overall it was really fun, except when I got sick. At this point my mother would yell out, “you were drunk!!” but I don’t think that’s it guys… really. Okay, let me explain myself, it was about 95 degrees out, I’m pretty sure I was dehydrated, and all of the beers I tried were crazy kinds like raspberry and orange… so I’m pretty sure that mixture didn’t help. But basically I ended up puking on the max, AND at the max station. It was embarrassing… but as I did so, a couple guys walked by and yelled “Yeah! Brew Fest 2010!” which kind of made me laugh in retrospect.

Anyway, that was basically my weekend… how was yours? What did you do?

I went Gaga.

I did it… I finally bought the Viva Glam Gaga lipstick I’ve been considering purchasing since forever. And let me say, it’s super pretty, feels really nice… and is dang near perfect. I seriously suggest going out to buy one of these puppies!

Sorry for the lack of posts… I’ll have a weekend update up tomorrow! Hope you all are doing fantastic!

All about eyes.

I love eye shadow palettes. In fact, I would even go as far as to say they’re my favorite make up item to buy. I know… lofty comment… but lately I’ve loved playing with the different colors I have. So I wanted to share some of the palettes I have that I absolutely adore.

The Kat Von D- Ludwig Palette.

I love this palette! It’s super pigmented! And the colors are gorgeous! I’m definitely more a fan of the colors to the right… but I like the greens too and I’m sure I’ll start using them more in the fall. But seriously a really good value for how great the colors and pigmentation is! You barely have to use any at all! In fact, it’s probably better to use a light hand with this palette!

The NYX Champagne & Caviar Palette.

This palette was 6 bucks! Seriously… and it’s amazing! It’s exactly the colors I like to use, natural with a bit of shimmer. And I’m not going to the lie, the pigmentation in these is almost as good as the Kat Von D! It’s definitely worth it to pick one of these up! I think there are four different palettes that NYX is currently making… but this was definitely my favorite out of all the color choices.

And lastly…

The Stila All Dolled Up- Jewel Doll Collection.

I got this set at Sephora when I was still in school. It was on major sale and I think it ended up being about 20 bucks for the whole thing! Which if you know Stila, this is a ridiculously good price. I don’t wear the lipgloss very often, it’s reserved for special occasions since it’s SO bright. But this palette is amazing! First of all it comes with two shadows and a blush. The blush is the bottom color, and it’s AMAZING. It seriously rivals my Nars- Orgasm… but it goes really nicely with it as well. I don’t think they sell this anymore, but sometimes I see some of the All Dolled Up collection on All Cosmetics Wholesale, so be sure to look on their occasionally to see if you can snag yourself one of these… it’s truly fantastic!

What are some of your favorite beauty items?

Blog Loving.

I love writing this blog… but almost more than that… I love reading blogs.

I definitely think I have some of the best blogs out there on my blogroll, but I decided I wanted to spread some love by telling you which ones I can’t go without reading daily.

1. Carrie Bradshaw Is Full Of Sh*t.

This girl is SO funny. She writes all about her online dating experiences and random memories. Her recent post about what her dating profile should really look like was hilarious! She also posts regularly, which I love. So definitely be sure to check her out.

2. Kendi Everyday.

I love this blog. Not only for the fashion, but once again, she’s a really witty girl. Right now she’s in the middle of a challenge where she sets aside 30 clothing items and wears only those items for 30 days, and doesn’t buy a thing (clothing wise). Quite inspiring! Be sure to check her out!

3. Life In The Fun Lane.

This blog makes me want to scour thrift stores for old furniture to paint.  She is so creative, and her house is to die for! Check it out!

4. Snackface.

I love the way this girl writes. She’s also very funny and eats some very interesting things, plus her posts are always very photo heavy- which I’m a fan of.

And lastly…

5. My Life Or Something Like It.

Did you really think I wasn’t going to include Sister’s blog? 🙂 Of course I love reading Sister’s blog… especially to see cute photos of my perfect nephew. Be sure to check her out! She loves readers and comments!

So now I want to know, what are some of your favorite blogs?

New jogging playlist:

I’m loving this one.

Also, yeah what’s that you see to the right? Josie and The Pussycats? Yeah… I was one of 5 people who actually bought that CD after that movie came out… I’m that cool.

What do you listen to while working out?

Also, if you can’t read here’s what’s on the playlist “Joggin’ Yo”:

1. If We Ever Meet Again- Katy Perry & Timbaland.

3. Alejandro- Lady Gaga

4. Tuff Ghost- The Unicorns

Weekend recap:

Hello all! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mine was very eventful- and now I think I deserve another weekend to recover. 🙂

Boyfriend came up on Friday and I met him in Olympia that night to see Inception. If you want to sit in a big room for 2.5 hours and leave scratching your head- this is your movie. I’m not saying I didn’t like it, but I will say that I think I need to see it roughly 4 more times to fully understand it. There was just a lot to take in.

Then Saturday we woke up early and got ready to go to Seattle for the day. We ended up driving there (originally planned to take the ferry) and got there around noon. We met up with Boyfriend’s cousin who lives in the Seattle area and headed over to Pikes Place Market. I hadn’t been there since FOREVER, so it was really interesting to walk around. However, being that it was Saturday and sunny… this is how I felt while there:

After Pikes, we headed to get some lunch at Beechers. I got the mac & cheese of course. It was delicious, although I’m pretty sure I inhaled it so fast that I barely had time to notice. After eating, we headed down to the Seattle Art Museum (SAM), which really was the whole purpose of our trip to Seattle in the first place. Boyfriend really wanted to see the Kurt (Kurt Cobain) exhibit, while I really wanted to see the Andy Warhol exhibit.

So we head into the museum and immediately saw on the sign that it’s free admission day! Hurray! This automatically makes my day! Apparently the museum was being sponsored by Target for the day, so we got to walk around and see everything for FREE! (My favorite price). Luckily we got there right at 2, which was when the 1 of 2 tours for the day was starting! The Andy Warhol exhibit was definitely my favorite- it wasn’t his paintings, it was his media works. So all of his moving photographs/videos were up (awesome!) and polaroids (awesomer!). I loved it!

After the museum we headed to the International District to hit up Uwajimaya (always fun) and walked around a bit. At this point it was about 7 p.m. and we decided we were tired of being downtown and wanted to head back to Shoreline (where his cousin lives) to go out to dinner.

We ended up going to a seafood buffet. I don’t eat seafood. And literally- EVERYTHING was seafood. The fried rice? Seafood fried rice. The chow mein? Seafood chow mein. Eventually I found some chicken teriyaki in the back corner, along with some white rice. But Boyfriend was in heaven, and ate his weight in sushi- so overall it was sucessful.

Then I decided I needed to use the restroom, as I excused myself- his cousin informed me that the bathroom was actually downstairs and you had to take an elevator to it. In light of my recent post– most of you know, I am really scared of elevators. So I’m pretty sure at this point Boyfriend’s cousins thought I was a freak. I don’t eat seafood, and won’t get into an elevator? Really… what’s wrong with me??

After dinner we headed to an ice cream shop called Molly Moon’s. Which was completely yummy, and completely packed! There was a line around the building. But we stood in line and let me tell you- it was worth it! Some of the flavors they had were basalmic strawberry, mandarin chocolate, honey lavender, salted caramel, etc. I got the “scout mint” which is mint ice cream made from local girl scout thin mint cookies. YUM! It was delish.

Then the next day we went to Sister’s to take some family photos for her! Kingsty was sooo cute, and we had a lot of fun doing that. Then sadly, the weekend came to an end. How was your weekend? What did you do? Tell me all about it!

Things I always like.

In light of my recent post “Things I always don’t like.”  I thought I’d be postive and do the other side of the spectrum- things I always like:

1. Stretching in bed after waking up.

(via)

You know the feeling. You wake up and lift your arms above your head, stretch your legs out really long, curl your toes, and make that morning sound. It always feels SO good, maybe even better than the actual sleeping itself…

2. Finding deals.

(via)

I’m a treasure hunter. When it comes to shopping, I love to dig. As a result- my favorite stores are always the Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, and the Goodwills of the world. And when I do find a deal- I always feel so satisfied- like all my hard work has not gone to waste. Sure it’s fun to look around at a regular Nordstrom from time to time, but to me- looking at clothing neatly organized in color coordinated piles just isn’t as thrilling.

3. Going to the airport.

(via)

I love airports. Not sure why- maybe it’s because I associate it with going on vacation. But there’s just something about an airports atmosphere that I love! People always seem so excited, and I love all the little shops.

4. Taking everything out of my purse and putting it all back in again.

(via)

I love to organize, more so than the average person. Thus, one of my favorite things to do is clean out my purse. I like to do so by taking everything out and cleaning each item one by one. For example, I’ll take my ipod out- I’ll clean the screen and wrap the headphones around it- put it back in, then I’ll move onto my wallet, I’ll take everything out of my wallet- and put each thing back into it one by one- getting rid of the junk. Then I move onto the cosmetic bag, take every item out one by one- get rid of what I don’t use anymore, then load it back in. I definitely do this almost too much. My purse is overly organized, that’s for sure.

5. Getting an A on a test after investing MANY hours into studying.

(via)

This is one of the most rewarding feelings I think I’ll ever know. Even if I end up having no social life for weeks, that A makes it worth every minute.

What are some things you always like?
